Issue where folder timeline items are not copied when copying objects

Copying the folder shown in the image does not create timeline items. What I want to do is copy the timeline items from the folder controlling the character, so I can animate another character just like the original one. Does this mean I have to copy the folder and manually input each timeline item one by one?

Here's the method I use:

Wouldn't saving the scene with the map and background removed
and then importing it back into the original scene solve the problem?
