people download an archive / card pack that includes zipmod most if not all people will take those and dump them in a folder named after the author of the cards or the zipmon author
no one is going to create a folder per card lets say someone has a 1000+ card collection thats 1000+ folders
and then we get to the area where alot of cards use the same zipmod so you are going to have tens of GBs of dupes just for order sake?

what you dont want thousands of folders?
(and yea each mod inside each card folder just makes it more work to sort to mods and card folders i just use in find .zipmod ctrl+x and paste them in the card author folder i made in the mods folder)

yeah. sort by creator is basic and really good structure.

most uploaders upload creator_character one by one. that is sorted. that's good.

sometimes upload one creator's data. that is sorted. that's good.

Let me explain how I do it: First, I don't organize my mods into separate packs. My hard drive is already very full. So, when I need to share something, I use a tool to identify the required mods, then I copy them out from my main mods folder, zip them for upload, and delete it.

For character cards, I use a tagging tool I found on a Chinese forum (this might sound a bit like self-promotion, but if you're interested: https://kkfuckfuck.pages.dev/threads/illus...uest-thread-2-0-restart.6/page-263#post-11698).
Then, I periodically use image duplicate finder software to manually check for and delete duplicate cards. As for scene cards, my method is simple and rough: I just sort them by author. I'm not very interested in collecting scene cards, so most of them are just piled into a folder (like scenes/xxx.zip.I don't even bother to unzip them.)

Although this might sound organized, in reality, I still have hundreds of cards that haven't been tagged or sorted. Additionally, many of the character cards I collected in the early days are simply sorted by their source series (e.g., Game/Anime > Series Name > Character Name). I still have to go through them one by one to verify the authors' names.

So, my organization system is actually quite a mess. On one hand, sorting is a slow process. On the other hand, my collection is constantly growing. Therefore, I'd recommend you don't follow my method. Or rather, start organizing from the very beginning when you first get into Koikatsu. That way, you won't have to stress out every day staring at tens or even hundreds of gigabytes of unsorted character cards.
