Now, if this is too difficult for you, i invite you to leave this forum and never come back. The same goes for those who play the hero by giving out the password.

Yes, you are right. There's many more reasons to set passwords. There are literally link crawlers on every server and group where leaked cards are shared; setting a password directly prevents these malicious users from accessing that content. And because of how a crawler works, they'll have the file but not the password, and then here's that dude what doesn't care about anything but goon, helping whoever malicious actor to just come here, search "password" and wow thanks, very useful newbie.
The newbie who has only 4 posts, only asking for shit, not helping, not giving opinions about anything, not using search bar, not googling shit, just a waste of time on this forum and ppl involved.
We really need gatekeeping as he cries about. Like really needed.

Since updating BetterRepack is quite the hassle and my version of KK surprisingly still compatible with most of the cards, I didn't bother to update. Probably will wait until I can afford a new hard drive to back up all my stuff.

That's fair, haha. I recently got a 14TB hard drive to back up my collections and always had the spare room to back up most of my koi install. Though if I were to be frank: Don't update BetterRepack, just grab stuff from the various Git repositories for the bepinex\plugins folder. It's significantly smaller and quicker than updating the full BetterRepack/HF patch and you can update just the things you actually want.

The password hint was

The password is the song title appearing in the video in half-width katakana plus a color. (Total of 6 characters)

I might be against paywalling content, but I'm also against needlessly making things harder for us out of lazyness and a cheap need for some kudos.

Shit’s gonna get leaked; it’s impossible for it not to happen, but what do you think is gonna piss off a creator more and cause them to react in a harsher way?:

a) Their private archive link is leaked and contained to just one site, with only a few people getting it and maybe, just maybe, sharing its content through their own links?​

b) The link is leaked across multiple sites, giving it a lot more visibility and with pretty much everyone accessing it and downloading their stuff?​

Both options will piss them off, but I can assure you B is the one that will make them escalate much sooner. You might argue that all of this is stupid and that the content is getting pirated and shared anyways, but it's not the same.

Look at Gue, his stuff was really annoying to get, but at least it was leaked. Now it isn't leaked anymore. It's barely drip-fed, if you could call it that. All because someone thought it was a good idea to copy his archive link from kemono and post it here.

The reason why I went from "I'll help people find them" to "lmao kys" is because I had instances of people immediately posting the password after I helped them find it, after which I asked people to post the ones they had already found before I helped, and was met with a barrage of "fuck you I'm not playing that game just give me the passwords"

Now let me explain why this author´s and some others cards are so rarely shared. You see, this creator isn´t really a Koikatsu one, but a true VRChat and MMD model creator, but he doesn´t port his models to koikatsu himself, he pays others to port them, so he can sell them. Before he joined the Koikatsu market in 2024, his models were already being ported and sold by chinese creators like Horai Legend, Hatoko and LDKI. He was so furious with the chinese, he decided to sell his models to koikatsu himself, so I think he joined hands with other japanese creators like Unagi, Keiyuu and Suou, and followed some of their advice and anti-chinese distribution methods, but made it even more hostile.

The most used anti-chinese walls are gumroad shops like Keiyuu and discord-only distribution like Unagi, Gumroad is unusable in China (''But Gumroad is used by Hatoko/Horai Legend and they are Chinese...'' Yes I know, maybe they are from Hong Kong) and Discord doesn´t support chinese numbers. But while Gumroad is a obvious no, and Patreon may refund you if you can´t use Discord... If the text on Suyasuya´s pixiv wasn´t a big red flag enough to chinese users, Suyasuya also uses fanbox, which means that refunds aren´t given and mask that his card distribution will be done only on Discord. I heard he also ban people for not using japanese when messaging him, Suyasuya is just that scary.

Now you must be thinking ''Ok, but how does that affect me?'', and that´s because while some big leakers like Imai-sensei aren´t, a lot of other leakers are chinese and if they can´t even buy it, they can´t also say ''I will share this now and hope you can share this other later'', which means that public leaks of him are also very rare to happen, and the few that get them will use these cards only in trades or share them only in closed groups, which makes these cards even more gated. So yeah, you won´t be seeing any new cards shared of this author anytime soon.

Just to be clear, I'm not saying that Japanese users aren´t important and can´t share them later, but Japanese users usually show a lot of love and respect for MMD creators, so don´t expect them to be the ones to leak this author. We will have to wait for other heroes...

TLDR: Suyasuya is hard to talk and easy to anger + Marked+ Expensive = You won´t be seeing any new cards shared of this author anytime soon.

What's insane about how some of the JP creators behave is that if otakus at large behaved the same way, there would never have been an otaku culture in the first place and no such things as Comiket. "The curse of modernity" as I call it, as everyone having open access to information and the internet also leads people to believe their views and opinions are just as important as anyone else's, while behaving and saying those things IRL would just be met with scorn and alienation.

there's also the fact that the suya mods are kinda shit. the last one I checked from f95 was the ririka one and it didnt even have a proper half off state lol

Larger reason why I stopped caring about the cards from people like Suou and Unagi

Shit in studio looks complete ass, sometimes they makes faces that look good but can't be animated, 80% of the clothes are accessories that they didn't even have the courtesy for the price they charge as tagging as 'sub-accessories' so you can take them off with one click,
