The Tale of Sunnyass; or How To Destroy Your Koikatsu Content Creator Career Some people may remember Sunnyass' decision to make his content harder to get similarly to what Harada just announced, and may have already seen he announced last month that his subs were going down "because of the leakers" (lmao)
As Gabe Newell said on piracy:
- Piracy typically stems from the fact the pirates offer a more convenient, easier, and faster experience than doing it "the right way" (looking at you KK creators who run shit through their DMs and etc.)
- Any form of barrier of entry or restriction/requirement to access the content creates a DISINCENTIVE to "do things the right way" (people who should feel targeted by this one know who they are)
- By operating a flexible pricing strategy (i.e. seasonal sales, bundles, deep discounts) you give an INCENTIVE for people to do things the right way
Which are all things the known KK paywallers refuse to do, and then become frustrated their strategies don't work
But Sunnyass is a great example because it's exactly what's waiting for people like Harada
This genius, as of June 2024, started making his monthly content available only during said month, and then gone forever and moved to Booth as paid individual packages
So let's ask everyone the question:
How do you grow your subscribers on Fanbox as a Koikatsu content creator when you make your old content unaccessible for subscribers other than going through the store and paying 15 USD a pop, but the same model also allows your subs to cancel their monthly/yearly plan and instead pick and choose which of your content they want to pay for?
