So I can understand what I'm doing wrong here

See Kirikumori tutorial on how to fix the stocking overlay problem with their Christmas outfit : https://www.pixiv.net/en/artworks/139058961

I'm following the pic step by step and it doesn't work so I'm likely missing something, if anyone could help that would be very appreciated

I know that the swimsuit goes funky light when loaded in a scene, but not sure about the setting for it, maybe the lighting ?

One more thing to check. Is everything all right here? Is there anything unusual about the numbers? Except fps due to the mod
Something something in that object is making your GPU go brr.
The RTX 5060 isnt that bad of a card either, I could run Stalker:Gamma on the RTX3060ti at 3440x1440 and that one is older...

This is weird... (Take a look, it went from 54% to 99%):

Either the object is having yandere sim brush levels of topology...
p1S4QPX.png

Or something isnt right with the material editor configura... woah the amount of different objects inside is impressive...
This could be normal, I mean Ive seen worse... Here is one for each rope...

Oh shit... why is it using KKUTS_Tess... also... WHERE... I dont see tesselation... so... WHERE...?
ltCS83p.png

Ok, the DoNotEdit object is applying tesselation to something something... let me take a look...
Ok, the normal amount of tesselation for non tesselated characters is 5... this is 2... so this object is tesselated.
(By default when you apply tesselation this comes with 5 TessEdgeLength, when I add tesselation to an object I reduce it to 2...
[It allows even less but the roundness improvements are insignificant...]

Bruh, are these tesselated pads...??? First time on my life Ive seen them.
See, if I increase the extrusion, the pads go bigger, if I lower the extrusion, they go smaller...

Ok, this might take a while to explain so:
The same way this universe is made out of strings (See (S)tring theory, the cosmic (S)erpent, (S)atan, a line in a piece of paper, the writting (S)ystem, etc)... [Yeah, all lines on this reality are Serpents]...
All the 3d objects you see on your computer are made out of triangles.

Why? Because is the easiest way we found out to represent 3D objects in computers.
See this cool dolphin, is made out of lines, triangles!
jPPcilu.png

(I mean you can use rectangles too, but triangles is where the good stuff is)

But triangles can only represent detail up to some level.
Titties, feet, ass, the good stuff IS ROUND!!!
So, what is "round"? Round is complexity, round is infinite!
(In reality all the stuff you see are infinites, the circuits on your processor have the complexity of a city.)

And so, the NUMBER OF POLIGONS IN A CIRCLE IS INFINITE (Banarch Tarsky Paradox):

Thats why the default ass and feet you see on vanilla koikatsu is not round. Its because the models have a finite number of triangles.
So the level of details is FINITE. So, how do we improve the "roundness" of an object to simmulate infinity even if it isnt infinite?
I want rounder titties, better feet, an spicier ass!!! : Tesselation.

Tesselation is basically appliying divisions to the lines of the triangles, therefore, you get more triangles out of the same original triangle!

What was happening is... that the autor added FAKE TESSELATED TITTIES (PADS) inside the rope object:
LAAFlZh.png

If your gpu isnt that potent, they might decrease your fps.
But its weird, Ive applied tesselation to multiple objects on my old 3060ti and the fps decrease wasnt that big.

So I suspect that 3 things are happening that lag your system when you apply the rope object:
1) Your KKUTS shader isnt up to date. UPDATE IT.
I mean, you know about bugs, optimization and stuff.
If its lagging so much using KKUTS maybe its because the version you use of KKUTS isnt up to date. So Ill advice to update it:
https://www.pixiv.net/en/artworks/131615852 (KKUTS 2.5.1)
Damn, new version I must update too...

2) If you are not going to be using tesselation, disable the tesselated PADS.

To disable tesselation in this case, Ill change the renderer from KKUTS_Tess to KKUTS since both are compatible with each other.
Tesselation will be disabled.

3) F1 -> Plugin settings -> Graphic settings
(4x MSAA is my preferred method but you can live with 2x or 0x, also Ill always force anisotropic filtering since fps decrease is insignificant.)

You can also try installing ReShade shaders if you want to experiment using FXAA or other sharpening methods.
Remember that reshade uses GPU not, CPU to alise borders.
5Cn3KRR.png

(Yeah, learned that applying FXAA to stalker Gamma (cpu limited to 1) and Helldivers 2 (only has FXAA support))

Hope this tesselation class helped you fix the issue!

I updated KKUTS just now, thanks. However, initially there is no such KKUTS setting on the rope or chara, it is possible in your uploaded chara. But I understood the main point, there are a lot of polygons on this rope, and my PC can't handle them. I've tried playing around with shaders, but it seems to have no Effect

I guess I'm just stupid or completely missing something

So what it says to do, in order:
1. Go to Body tab
2. General
3. Set Skin type to 11-Light 1
4. Open Material Editor
5. In cf_m_body, set Texture2 and Texture3 ScaleX and ScaleY to 0.28
5.1 Copy edits
6. Go to Uniform tab
7. Legwear
8. Open Material Editor
9. Find m_thigh
10. Paste edits

What am I missing?
