Hi everyone!

I'm kind of new to the forum and the Koikatsu world in general. This community has been very convenient as I have not only been able to get cards from other creators, but I have also met many of them that I had no idea existed.

Anyway, today I didn't come here to talk about my experiences here, but rather to make a request to some mod, admin, developer, emperor-kami-god, or whatever the highest authority (or someone with power) in the forum is called.
It is related to the search-query form.

I don't know how complicated it would be to make, or if it would lead to any stability in the way the forum system works.

REDUCE THE MINIMUM CHARACTER LIMIT TO 3. At least to me, it often happens that authors have multiple pseudonyms or very long names, so they are better known by their abbreviated names.

A few examples:

Another situation I often find myself in: I try to do a search for a creator or maybe a specific card, and unless I write it exactly, I will not find the post I am looking for.

I may be forgetting some other common cases of query, but I don't want to expand the topic too much.

And don't get me wrong, I'm very grateful to the person or team for bringing this site to us at no apparent cost or benefit other than creating a community . This is just a suggestion to see if there is a way to improve it.

Can you do something about chinese/ japanese character as well, if possible? Many of them only have one or two character in their name, for example 虚子, 琴觞....

Xenforo by default only allows searches with 4+ characters.
You can circumvent that by adding "*" to your search terms.
This is a placeholder for any character(s) that might take the place of the "*"

Let's say you search for "DEX*" it will find:
- "DEX " (note the space)
- "DEXter"
- "DEX%"
and so on.

The "*" can be added to beginning of a search term as well, following the same logic ( "*DEX" -> Finds "%DEX").

Maybe that helps. 🤷‍♂️

EDIT: This also works by searching for 2 letter words -> "OZ**"

This doesn't seem to be able to get all the result. For example, if I search for 虚子**, it only returns two results, but if I search for kyonko (虚子 english spelling) and check for the word 虚子 among the results that appear, there are more than two posts that have the word 虚子.
But thank you anyway, I guess It's just one of those limitations that are difficult to address without putting special effort on it.
